M3 Challenge

About

MathWorks sponsors a competition called the MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge intended for high schools and college students to model complex real-world problems in a principled way. My team, which I captained, produced a paper within the 14 hour time limit. The paper was recognized as being one of the top 18% of the submissions. We used MATLAB, Python, and stochastic processes to generate figures and results.

Motivation

I was curious about math modeling and was Co-President of the club at my school that participated in the competition. The modeling question itself was given by the competition organizers.
